I am a visual artist who lives and paints in St Thomas, Ontario, Canada. I studied art at the University of Western Ontario and received a BFA in 1989. My work is deeply rooted in the abstract tradition and I work from a collage aesthetic. I am experimenting with layering acrylic skins which, for me, convey a sense of fragility, vulnerability. The history of abstract art is my main source of inspiration and I have mined it for gestures. In this blog I will write about what I am reading, the shows I visit, my experiences with the web and my studio practice. Thanks for reading! – Mary
